Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. The Contractor shall provide odor control turnkey services of Magnesium hydroxide chemical solution at four locations that includes chemical supply, chemical storage, equipment, system/components maintenance, ongoing operational monitoring/sampling to track performance, reporting and all necessary maintenance services to successfully manage odor at the four locations specified herein. B. The Contractor shall provide necessary personnel, equipment, materials, supplies, transportation, services and otherwise do all things necessary to provide odor control turnkey services at the four locations specified herein. C. The Contractor shall add magnesium hydroxide chemical solution to the raw wastewater in the collection system at the four specified location herein to raise the pH to meet the specified H2S criteria mentioned in this Scope of work. 4.2. Product Requirement A. The magnesium hydroxide chemical solution provided under this contract shall be suitable to raise and maintain the wastewater pH to meet the specified H2S criteria at the target locations (as specified herein). B. The magnesium hydroxide chemical solution shall contain no substances in quantities capable of producing deleterious or injurious effects on the health of the environment and those operators working with the product or negatively impact the City’s general pretreatment program. For example, magnesium hydroxide amended with caustic soda or lime, that could cause pH excursions of pH beyond the upper limit of 9.0 would be considered unacceptable. If the product being furnished by the Contractor is not proven satisfactory, or is not substantially the same as the material proposed and accepted at bid time, or if any of the City’s facilities or equipment are damaged as a result of the impurities in the solution, the contractor shall reimburse the City for the cost of any repair, maintenance or replacement resulting from impurities. C. The aqueous suspension of magnesium hydroxide shall meet all local, state and federal laws, codes and standards to safeguard the public and the environment. A. The Contractor shall provide and install the following: chemical storage tanks with in-tank mixers, transfer and metering pumps and appurtenances (valves, fittings, flow meters, piping, etc.), control system/panel, and all other necessary appurtenances to deliver chemical from chemical storage tank to the dosing location as needed for a complete and operable system at each dosing location. The Contractor must itemize the system components to be furnished and installed at each dosing location as part of the proposal. B. All materials of construction for storage, pumping, dosing, metering, piping/tubing, and/or mixing that come in contact with the magnesium hydroxide chemical solution shall meet industry standards for material compatibility and conform to engineering best practices and safety for the application. C. The control system/panel provided by the Contractor should achieve the following at a minimum: 1. Allow manual adjustment of the chemical flow rate (as necessary to meet the target H2S) for each of the metering pump(s) in service. 2. Telemetry to inform the Contractor that there is a system malfunction. The Contractor may provide local staffing to perform physical inspection (at least twice daily) of the system in lieu of telemetry for alarm notification. The Contractor must specify what approach is being supplied as part of the proposal to monitor the on-time of their system. 3. Provide pump curve and Hertz setting for each feed pump for correlation of feed rates.
