Specifications include, but are not limited to:This Specification outlines the requirements for R-134a air conditioning refrigerant (Coolgas LTD or Renfron R134a), DART part #01-X-0006), which is used in DART's Bus and Non-Revenue Vehicle Fleets. 4.1 The product shall have a minimum of three (3) years of transit field experience under conditions of –15 to 115°F similar to those found in Dallas, Texas. 4.2 All products shall be commercially available. 4.3 All products shall interface to existing system without any modifications to the products, vehicle or systems currently installed. 4.4 Material Safety Data Sheets will be provided with each delivery. 4.5 The Contractor shall furnish HFC-134a (R134a) refrigerant in portable refillable or non-refillable containers as described in this specification. 4.6 Refrigerants compliant with SAE J639 are intended for use in mobile air conditioning systems. 4.7 At a minimum, Contractor shall meet ANSI/ASHRAE 34-2013 criteria for low toxicity, non-flammable, non-explosive and applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) standards. 4.8 The portable refillable and non-refillable cylinders shall incorporate fittings per SAE J2197. The cylinder valve shall comply with the standard for cylinder valves UL 1769. 4.9 All refrigerant containers shall meet DOT requirements 4A300. 4.10 A two-way valve (gas/liquid) shall be affixed to each refillable cylinder, which consists of one (1) service outlet port and two (2) shut-off valves. 4.11 The Contractor shall provide an exchange for only the 125-pound refrigerant cylinders to accommodate the refill process. 4.12 The Contractor shall retrieve empty 125-pound refrigerant cylinders within twenty-four (24) hours of full refrigerant cylinder delivery.
