Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Court Prosecutor shall conduct all prosecution in the Municipal Court on behalf of the City. The Court Prosecutor is responsible for all aspects of prosecution including: investigation; contacting witnesses, officers, victims, and defense attorneys as necessary; pre-trial hearing and motions; and representing the city at bench and/or jury trials. The Court Prosecutor will provide legal research, training, and assistance to the Police Department including statutory interpretation, enforcement issues, and case decisions; will provide advice and representation in forfeiture hearings; will inform and advise the department regarding statutory or case law changes. Currently the Municipal Court holds one (1) court day a month, except in the months of November and December, starting at 2 p.m. and held in session until all court business has been conducted.
