Specifications include, but are not limited to: Sanding:All wood floors shall be sanded with a belt or drum driven sander.1.For the cut, the floors shall be traversed in both directions going with the grain of the flooring using No. 36 grit sandpaper, followed with No. 50 grit paper, then with No. 80 grit finishing with No.100 grit paper.2.After sanding, the floor shall be screen disk abrading the floor with a rotary buffing machine.3.On the last cut, use a floor buffer fitted with fine paper or a fine screen disk, (100 grit), and sand the entire floor to blend circular cuts of the disc sander with the drum sander cuts. Sealing:1.After sanding, floor shall be thoroughly swept and vacuumed.2.Tack rag floor with a Turkish towel dampened with Kleen-Up-Solvent. Tack-rag the floor two or three times, or until no traces of sanding dust remain on floor.3.Then apply one coat of Hillyard 550 seal or equivalent. Allow the seal to dry for 12 hours.4.Screen the entire floor using 100 grit disks with a rotary buffing machine.5.Before applying the second coat of Hillyard’s 550 seal or equivalent, you must clean and tack the floor thoroughly.6.Then screen, clean and tack thoroughly before applying all painted and logos.7.Paint all lines and logos with a Hillyard maroon pad.8.Abraid all painted lines and logos with an oil modified paint.9.Tack-Rag entire floor with the Kleen-Up solvent.10.Apply one coat of Hillyard 450 or equivalent polyurethane (50% solid) at a minimum.11.Abraid the entire floor using Hillyard’s maroon pad.12.Repeat process 9 and 10.13.Allow the floor to cure for 72 hours. Scrub and Recoat1.Abraid entire floor using 100 grit disks with a rotary buffing machine.2.Sweep entire floor with a push broom to remove all dust.3.Then, vacuum the floor to assure that all dust particles are removed.4.Tack-Rag the floor usinga trowel dampened in Kleen-Up solvent. Tack-rag the floor two or three times.5.Apply one coat of Hillyard 450 or equivalent polyurethane (50% Solid) at a minimum.6.Allow the floor to dry for 24 hours.7.Abraid the floor using a Hillyard maroon pad with a rotary buffing machine.8.Then, repeat processes 5, 6, 7 and 8.
