Specifications include, but are not limited to: Concession operations are a key component to the overall character of the park. The selected proposer will be required to satisfy the following conditions as part of the concession operations. Personnel The proposer will be responsible for hiring necessary personnel to conduct the operation of the concession stands. The operator will comply with all federal, state, and local laws related to minimum wage, social security, nondiscrimination, unemployment compensation, and workers’ compensation. Operating Hours Hours of operation will vary based upon the seasons and weather. Hours may vary from two–three hours per week night and weekends from 9AM to dusk, or until the conclusion of the scheduled activity, whichever occurs first at the Baseball facilities. A tentative schedule of events is shown in Attachment 2. Menu Items The selected proposer is expected to serve quality food and drinks at a competitive price to meet the needs of park patrons. All menu items and pricing must be submitted to the City of Galveston’s Parks and Recreation Director for approval prior to any product sales. Alcohol sales are not permitted. Sale of Non-Food Items or Novelties Concession privileges granted shall not include the right to sell souvenirs, toys, pictures and other items usually considered novelties unless mutually agreed upon by the Concessionaire and the City prior to the sale of such items. Facility Improvements Proposers can make improvements to the facilities. Request for approval for improvements must be submitted, in writing, to the Director of Parks, or their designee. Authorization of the improvement will be given to the vendor in writing; no work should begin until written approval has been received by vendor. Keep records and receipts of upgrades, the City of Galveston may credit rental payments equal to the cost of any improvement.
