Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. INTENT District intends to furnish uniforms for approximately 512 employees in four departments. The breakdown of the employees is as follows: CNP: 187 employees – 161 women, 26 men Warehouse / Fixed Assets: 9 employees – 9 men Transportation: 64 employees – 16 women, 48 men Maintenance: 102 employees – 7 women, 95 men Custodial: 150 employees – 40 women, 110 men 2. SPECIFICATIONS District is soliciting offers for the purchase of uniforms according to the specifications listed on the Bid Form. 2.1. The Maintenance Department, Custodial Department, Child Nutrition Program and Warehouse / Fixed Assets issues approximately three (3) uniforms per employee for approximately 448 existing employees. (New employees are usually issued five (5) uniforms) 2.2. The Transportation Department issues approximately four (4) uniforms per employee for approximately 64 employees. (New employees are usually issued eight (8) uniforms) The numbers above are approximations to allow the vendors an opportunity to gauge the requirements. This RFP will be awarded as line item contract. 2.3. Embroidery 1. Work Shirts will be embroidered with the following: a. District logo and department name (approximately 21/2” x 4”) in size on left side of chest. Prior to ordering vendor must submit a sample of the embroidered logo with department name for department approval. 2.4. Brand Name The specifications below and/or mentioned in any part of the solicitation will be understood as indicating type, function, minimum standard of design, efficiency and quality desired, and will not be construed in such a manner as to exclude manufacturer’s products of comparable quality, design and efficiency. Whenever in any part of the solicitation, contract documents, an article, or material, is defined by describing a proprietary product, or by using the name of a manufacturer or vendor, the term “or District approved equal”, if not inserted, will be implied. 2.5. Equivalent Products All products that are designated as equivalent to specified items will be evaluated based on the complete descriptive information provided along with brand/model and any product literature submitted. A sample of the items proposed may be requested for testing. The proposer will be responsible for all cost of submitting a sample for testing and approval.
