Specifications include, but are not limited to: SAISD will evaluate a fiber-based network infrastructure proposal to provide connectivity from the SAISD Wide Area Network (WAN) for all campuses and facilities to the newly established District Data Center located in the Bexar Metro 911 Network Quarry Run Regional Operations Center (BM911), 4700 Quarry Run, San Antonio, TX 78249. SAISD will evaluate long-term contract options for lit or dark fiber, as defined by the FCC Second E-Rate Modernization Ruling. The bandwidth requirements of the Data Center connections are based upon the aggregate campus bandwidth as defined by the FCC targetsi for Lit Fiber WAN connectivity and by equipment functionality to extend the WAN for dark fiber connectivity. The campus bandwidth information is provided in Appendix 1. The requested connectivity from the WAN to the Data Center should support the near term and long term (4 year) requirements of the district with a minimum of 2 x 100 Gb bandwidth for initial connectivity with low latency and Ethernet framing scalable per connected site within the term of the contract. The contract award is expected to occur no later than January 2020. Proposer may be required to begin construction, installation, or deployment activities immediately following contract award or may be required to wait until E-Rate funding letter commitments are received. The District will issue a Notice to Proceed prior to evoking the contract start date. Specific project schedules will be coordinated with the successful proposer following contract award. The San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) requests interested agencies to submit proposals for “lit and/or dark fiber” solutions to provide high capacity, low latency, scalable bandwidth from SAISD’s WAN HUB locations to the District Data Center located within the Bexar Metro Quarry Run Regional Operations Center Data Center, 4700 Quarry Run, San Antonio, TX 78249. The proposal should include: The lit or dark fiber network infrastructure solution(s) with technical specifications and functionality clearly presented. The non-recurring cost and the description for the cost, The special construction cost and the associated documentation of the cost, The operations, maintenance, and ongoing cost of the proposed fiber-based WAN solution.
