Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Remove all the existing exterior wood doors and windows including any new metal doors. Remove old plywood enclosures where original doors were previously removed. Remove the existing rotted wood nailers attached to the existing brick walls. All of the demolition shall be accomplished with extreme care to prevent damage to the existing structure and existing finishes. Remove any portions of the window sills and moldings required to replace the windows. Damage to the existing walls, ceilings, and floors shall be corrected at contractors expense. B. Replace 23 exterior windows and 6 doors with window on top with wood and insulated glass types to match the existing windows precisely the same. The wood doors shall match one existing original door as shown on the architect plans here in referred as the PROJECT. 1.3 ADDITIONAL WORK REQUIRED A. Demolition: Carefully plan and remove all the existing exterior doors and windows with minor damage to the existing structure and finishes. Some doors have been removed and replaced with fake wood covers. The wood areas will be removed and replaced with the original wood doors in accordance with the architect plans. Rough Carpentry: Remove all of the rotted wood nailers and replace with treated wood nailers. Install the wood nailers with steel angles welded to the existing steel plates imbedded in the brick walls and as shown on the architect plans. B. Finish Carpentry: Remove and replace all of the wood moldings, sills, and wood panels required to install the new windows and replicate the existing wood finishes precisely.
