Specifications include, but are not limited to: Item 104: Removing Concrete- Remove existing hydraulic cement concrete from locations shown on the plans. Avoid damaging concrete that will remain in place. Saw-cut and remove the existing concrete to neat lines. Replace any concrete damaged by the Contractor at no expense to the Department. Accept ownership and properly dispose of broken concrete in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations unless otherwise shown on the plans. Item 247: Flexible Base - Construct each layer uniformly, free of loose or segregated areas, and with the required density and moisture content. Provide a smooth surface that conforms to the typical sections, lines, and grades shown on the plans or as directed. Item 340: Dense-Graded Hot-Mix Asphalt (Small Quantity) - Produce, haul, place, and compact the specified paving mixture. In addition to tests required by the specification, Contractors may perform other QC tests as deemed necessary. At any time during the project, the Engineer may perform production and placement tests as deemed necessary in accordance with Item 5, “Control of the Work.” Schedule and participate in a Pre-paving Meeting with the Engineer on or before the first day of paving unless otherwise directed. Item 361: Repair of Concrete Pavement - Submit for approval all materials and methods of application at least 2 weeks before beginning any repair work. Repair locations will be as indicated on the plans or as directed. Repair areas may be adjusted after removing distressed concrete. Switch the half-depth repair to the full-repair if exposed existing longitudinal bars are deficient, as approved. Compensation will be made for unexpected volumes of repair areas or changes in scope of work.
