Specifications include, but are not limited to: A.The Contractor will provide or assure the provision of comprehensive genetic services to low income, uninsured or underinsured women and children living in Texas, that include:1.Screening and eligibility determination;2.Testing and diagnosis;3.Management of genetic conditions;4.Long term follow-up;5.Support services for the family; and6.Genetic counseling.B.The Contractor may delegate the management of medical problems associated with a specific genetic condition to one of a number of subspecialty clinics.C.The Contractor will provide the services approved in the Contractor's response or will have an established referral relationship with a qualified provider for each approved service that Contractor does not provide.D.The Contractor will be a Medicaid provider and must have in place a medical director who is licensed to practice medicine in Texas and is board-certified or has active candidate status in clinical, medical biochemical or clinical biochemical genetics.E.The Contractor will have in place a genetics team that includes at least one of the following:1. Registered nurse;2.Certified genetic counselor;3.Metabolic nutritionist; or4.Social worker to provide genetic services.
