Specifications include, but are not limited to: Remove graffiti without damaging the surface it is on. If removal is not possible, graffiti may be painted over. The contractor shall use the graffiti removal method that will restore the affected surface most closely to its pre-graffiti condition. When covering graffiti by painting, closely match the color range of the surface. If a private property owner has color matched paint, the Contractor will use this paint to eliminate the graffiti. Prepare all exterior surfaces to achieve proper paint bonding. Surfaces that may require graffiti removal or graffiti paint over are wood or mansonry fences, building walls, dumpsters, bollards, picnic tables, park benches, trash/recycling barrels, streets, sidewalks and curbs. Graffiti on unpainted concrete, stone, or masonry surfaces shall not to be painted over without prior permission from the department issuing the work order. Paint shall not be used on sidewalks, curbs or curb faces, or any other walking surface without prior permission from the department issuing the work order. Contractor shall be equipped with minimum 3000 psi spray washer or other approved equipment. Perform all abrasive or chemical removal techniques in such a manner that the area of graffiti removal is feathered or otherwise blended into the adjacent surface. Abrasive or chemical removal techniques of only the pattern or outline of the graffiti so that the graffiti is still discernible are prohibited.
