Specifications include, but are not limited to: This specification covers the requirements for reinforcement of wood poles. Pole reinforcement is a method by which a pole that has been weakened due to decay, insect infestation, or mechanical damage can be braced by a steel truss, enabling pole to remain in its present location. Poles meeting qualifications for reinforcement must first be internally treated with preservatives to arrest decay and/or to exterminate insect infestation. Contractor is to furnish all supervision, labor, tools, equipment and material necessary or required for the treatment and reinforcement of in-service wooden poles as specified. Bryan Texas Utilities, hereinafter referred to as “Owner,” will furnish the Contractor with maps and GPS coordinates indicating locations of poles which are the subjects for treatment and reinforcement. Owner can also provide detailed results from pole inspection survey for all reinforcement candidates. Owner expects approximately 35 wooden distribution poles to be reinforced.
