Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Prior to a polygraph examination being conducted on an applicant, the department will have the applicant complete a “Pre-Polygraph Questionnaire” and a designated department employee will review and discuss the applicant’s answers to the questionnaire with the applicant to narrow the applicant’s answers as much as possible. 2. Upon the department requesting an appointment for a polygraph examination of an applicant, the polygraph examiner must be able to conduct the polygraph examination of the applicant within forty-eight (48) hours of the request. 3. Approximately eight (8) to ten (10) times each year, the department conducts entrance exams for out of town applicants and sends those who pass the entrance exam and interview for their polygraph exam on the same afternoon, so that they do not have to travel back to Dallas on a different day. The department will notify the polygraph examiner’s office at least thirty (30) days in advance of these testing dates. However, because it is impossible to know exactly how many applicants will pass testing and interviews, the department will not be able to reserve an exact number of appointments in advance. The department can estimate how many out of town applicants may pass testing interviews, but an exact number will not be known until testing and interviewing is completed. The polygraph examiner’s office must be able to perform polygraph exams on the afternoon of testing days on all out of town applicants who pass testing and interviews, under these circumstances. 4. The vendor must allow appointments to be scheduled using an online scheduling system, because some scheduling will be conducted after normal business hours. The online scheduling system must show available appointments and the capability to reserve an appointment time from the available times.
