Description

PURPOSE: The City of Leander, herein after “City”, seeks to enter into an agreement with a qualified Individual, Firm or Corporation, herein after “Respondent”, to provide construction services for the delivery of the new 12,000 square foot Leander Senior Center.
BACKGROUND: The City of Leander citizens approved the issue of several bonds to fund the design and construction of the Leander Senior Center. This expansive building will provide recreation and entertainment facilities to the seniors of the City. This long awaited project will provide meals, exercise classes, games, art classes and other featured activities for area seniors.
PROJECT ARCHITECT & PLANS: The design and construction management services for the Project are being provided by PGAL, 141 35 Midway Road, Suite G-200, Addison, Texas 75001. Bid Set Plans are available on www.millerids.com by Miller.
PARTNERING ORGANIZATION: The City of Leander is partnering with The Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) to provide office space within the Project building. Space the for CAC is noted on the bid set plans.
LOCATION: The Leander Senior Center shall be located at 709 Municipal Drive, Leander, TX 78641. This property is located just west of the Leander Public Works Department. A location map on ATTACHMENT B is provided herein.
BUDGET: 2018 bond proceeds have provided $3.685 million for the construction of the project.
BID BOND: A bid bond is required with bid submission. Failure to provide a bid bond may disqualify respondent from consideration of award. All bonds shall be obtained from solvent surety or insurance companies that are duly licensed by the State of Texas and authorized to issue bonds or insurance policies for the limits and coverages required.
