Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Establish and maintain a confidential occupational medical evaluation program for firefighters (that meets or exceeds NFPA 1582 Chapter 7 standards) and police officers that meets or exceeds TCOLE required L2 (Medical Exam) and L3 (Psychological Exam) procedures . 2. Early detection, disease prevention, and health promotion. 3. Create baseline data to monitor future effects of exposure to specific biological, physical, or chemical agents. 4. Detect changes in individuals’ health that may be related to harmful working conditions. 5. Provide information to personnel about occupational hazards and current health. 6. Provide personnel with direct (online and hard copy, if requested) access to all medical information and tests conducted and maintained by vendor in a timely manner; provide personnel ability to track personal results and progress. 7. Reduce out-of-service time through preventative early intervention of potential problems. 8. Reduce out-of-service time during medical and fitness assessments through utilization of a welldeveloped and well-coordinated vendor to drive an efficient, effective assessment process. 9. Obtain benchmarking reports with the provision of detailed data obtained from other fire departments servicing cities of similar size, as well as other fire departments in the Central Texas region. 10. Comply with federal, state, and local requirements.
