Specifications include, but are not limited to: The DPA is calling for qualifications from teams with experience creating structured parking with unique challenges. The selected team will propose a plan that accomplishes the following project goals: 1. Accommodates 1,000 or more parking spaces in a structured parking facility. More spaces within the height limitation (#3) are preferred. Parking space size should be industrystandard with an industry-standard percentage of compact car spaces to be considered. 2. Incorporates approximately 20,000 sq. ft. of commercial space fronting Main Street, at a minimum, and preferably fronting some portion of Beale Street if space allows while maximizing parking spaces. Such commercial space can span multiple floors and can be narrow in depth. 3. Architecturally designed to fit within the neighborhood and be contextually appropriate with respect to mass, form, rhythm, scale, and exterior materials. 4. Has a unique and creative design which incorporates safety and lighting. 5. Includes sustainable or reusable materials where possible. 6. Includes storage spaces for alternative modes of transportation such as bikes and scooters accessible from the public sidewalk but preferably covered. 7. Contemplates use of the existing trolley stop on Main Street or an equally suitable trolley stop.
