Specifications include, but are not limited to: Specifications describe the criteria to provide SCBAs, Confined Space Airpacks, RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) packs, all applicable accessories, including but not limited to a full facepiece, positive pressure breathing regulator, pressure reducing regulator, harness and back frame assembly for supporting the equipment on the body of the wearer, remote gauge indicating cylinder pressure, a rapid intervention crew/universal air connection (RIC/UAC); masks, CBRN filters, forty-five minute cylinders, sixty minute cylinders, thirty minute cylinders and fifteen minute cylinders with valve assembly for storing breathing air under pressure, and the warranty of all purchased equipment. These SCBAs shall be equipped with an integrated telemetry monitoring system. Additional requirements within this scope is the training and certification of Nashville Fire Department personnel in the maintenance and repair of SCBAs and accessories and the training of Nashville Fire Department Firefighters and Emergency Medical personnel in the use of SCBAs and or masks as it pertains to their specific responsibilities. As the department currently has in operation 425 MSA G1 SCBAs the department will consider vendors, manufactures, products, warranties and maintenance performance that integrate with the current MSA G1. Classification : 4618, Personal safety and protection; 4619, Fire protection Applicable Standards and other Documents: NIOSH 42 CFR, Part 84 for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear protection (CBRN) with 30-45 or 60 minute rated service life. NFPA 1981, 2013 Edition, Standard on Open-Circuit Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus for Emergency Services. The SCBAs shall be compliant to the NFPA 1982, 2013 Edition Standard on Personal Alert Safety Systems. The SCBAs is to include an optional integrated self-rescue device; the device shall be compliant to the NFPA 1983, 2012 Edition , Standard on Life Safety Rope and Equipment for Emergency Services. All electronic components shall be approved for Intrinsic Safety under UL 913 Class I, Groups C and D, Class II, Groups E, F and G, Hazardous locations. US Department of Transportation (DOT) - Title 49 CFR Part 107.801; Title 49 CFR Part 107.805; Title 49 CFR Part 180.205; Title 49 CFR Part 180.213; and Title 49 CFR Part 180.215. Compressed Gas Association (CGA) - Pamphlets CGA C-1, C-6.1, C-6.2 2.6 all material used on the SCBAs shall be of fire resistive material.
