Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City requires installation services for inductive loop detection facilities for traffic signals under City of Knoxville Traffic Systems. The fixed price term agreement will be based on two typical loop installations: 1) one-hundred thirty (130’) feet or 2) eighty (80’) linear feet. The loop will be installed in accordance with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Traffic Detector Handbook, Third Edition-Volume I Chapter 4, Traffic Detector Handbook Special Function Applications, Long loop with power head Figure 4-27 (see 12. Loop Design below) power head configuration. The power head loop will have three (3) turns of wire for every one (1) turn in the main body. For Example; 2 turns in the main body will equal 6 turns in the power head. The linear footage will be based on 108’ of loop and 22’ of homerun saw slot for 6’ X 45’ loops. The typical wire linear footage will be based on approximately 332’ for the loop and homerun with ample wire to make it to nearest point of termination. The typical linear footage of backer rod shall be approximately 156’. Each typical loop uses approximately 8-10 gallons of loop sealer with the proper amount of catalyst. This will be loop Type 1. The linear footage will be based on 58’ of loop and 22’ of homerun saw slot for 6’ X 20’ loops. The typical wire linear footage will be based on approximately 188’ for the loop and homerun with ample wire to make it to nearest point of termination. The typical linear footage of backer rod shall be approximately 96’. Each typical loop uses approximately 4-6 gallons of loop sealer with the proper amount of catalyst. This will be loop Type 2.
