Specifications include, but are not limited to: 4.5.1 Inspections and Testing: Every six (6) months the vendor shall inspect and test each generator. Start the unit Run the unit for a minimum of thirty (30) minutes Manually operate the generator. Verify that the generator is producing rated AC voltage and frequency and all control panel instruments and gauges are functioning. Calibrate voltmeter and amp meter with digital meter. Check output voltage, frequency current under load and record findings. Check voltage regulator for drop, regulation. Check for any unusual engine or generator noise and water, oil and exhaust leaks. Whenever possible, building load will be made available. Check generator under load for a period of thirty (30) minutes and record unit panel instrument readings. 4.5.2 Routine Maintenance Service: Once per year, the vendor shall perform routine maintenance functions on each generator. General: Start the unit Run the unit for a minimum of thirty (30) minutes Lubricate all fittings Thoroughly check the ignition system, oil level, coolant level, fuel supply. Perform a general cleaning of the power unit and the immediate area surrounding it. Tune-ups as needed Minor adjustments Change the oil using the grade of oil that is specified by the manufacturer Electrical System AC & DC: All cables will be checked, cleaned and tighten as required. Check the batteries for electrolyte level and fill as required. Check the starter, solenoid, pilot relay for loose connections and tighten as needed. Check the trickle charger for proper operation and adjust as required. Check the alternator for proper operations and record volts. Fuel System: Check fuel lines, filters and pumps for leaks. Check main storage tank for level and condensation. Check day tank for proper pump operations, condensation and/or leaks. Change primary and secondary filters annually.
