Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The Contractor shall demolish existing Gymnasium wood floor, sub-floor, and sleepers and dispose of legally off-site. Clean leftover debris from demolished area including all dust particles and prep per manufacturer’s instructions prior to installing the new floor system. 2. The Contractor shall provide, prep and install a new wood floor system as stated in these Specifications. See Section 09642 for details. New wood floor shall consist of northern hard maple, 2 ¼” board widths, second or better grade strip flooring. The Contractor shall be liable for all field measurements in the Gymnasium to insure a new wood floor is installed where existing wood floor is present. 3. Remove and re-install the existing bleachers as needed to facilitate the installation process. Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining workability and repair of any damage that may be caused by this process. 4. The Contractor shall install new wood flooring up to existing door framing metal. No wooden ramps shall be accepted. Adjust all basketball goals to regulation height after new floor installation. 5. The Contractor shall replicate all existing game line configurations. Include school mascot logo at center circle. Include 3’ perimeter border including 2’ lettering with school mascot name at both ends of the court. The school Principal or Athletic Director will provide a color rendering for this work. The contractor will provide a final likeness and obtain written approval before applying logo. 6. Provision and Installation of new brass cover plates for the existing volleyball sleeves. 7. Where necessary, the Contractor shall extend floor electrical, scoreboard and microphone service per NEC and local codes having jurisdiction to new floor height. Provide and install new hinged brass cover plates. 8. Install manufacturer approved vent cove base to walls with screws or manufacturer approved adhesive. Use pre-molded outside corners and mitered inside corners. 9. Touchup paint any areas of need from the removal of existing wall base cove and any areas that are marred from the removal/installation of the existing bleachers, per Section 09912.Adjust all basketball goals to regulation height after new floor installation 10. The contractor shall install new aluminum transition strips and thresholds where existing transition strips are present. 11. Upon completion, the Contractor shall conduct a training session with school staff on how to properly maintain and care for the new wood floor system. 12. The contractor shall provide and install ALL ASPECTS OF THE SPECIFICATIONS, SCOPE OF WORK, AND DRAWINGS to the most stringent standard to satisfy the general meaning and intent of Shelby County Schools. F. Project will be constructed under a single contract.
