Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. conduct site visits, as needed, to provide expert analysis using engineering principles and practices, in accordance with code and industry standards. b. evaluate the quality of construction, including design or maintenance procedures, of an electrical system, appliance, or consumer product in order to develop expert opinions regarding the origin and cause of a fire or explosion. c. perform lightning damage assessments. d. analyze failed electrical systems, appliances, and/or consumer products to determine the cause(s) of the failure. e. review case materials and supporting documents, in conjunction with Contractor’s analyses and assessments, in order to develop expert opinions regarding the orgin and cause of a fire or explosion. f. prepare and deliver a written report, within thirty (30) days of receipt of supporting documentations, or such other time period as is mutually agreed upon and confirmed in writing by the Director, detailing the Contractor’s expert opinion with regard to any electrical cause and origin of the fire or explosion and/or contributing factors related to lapses in quality of construction, design, or maintenance procedures.
