Specifications include, but are not limited to: Replacing two 36-inch valves along Clifton Avenue. In general, the Work consists of the following: • At the intersection of Felicia and Clifton install the valves, DIP, etc. to connect the 6 inch main to the 10 inch main to avoid customers going out of water while the 36 inch shutdown is taking place. • Excavate to expose the two 36 inch valves as well as the sections of PCCP pipe that will be removed and discarded by contractor. • Replace the existing valves with the new horizontal gate valves supplied by Metro Water Services. • Install the needed adapters, sleeves, DIP, etc. to properly connect back to the water system. • Properly backfill the pipe, and restore the site to preconstruction conditions including paving. • Coordinate with Public Works, TDOT, residents, businesses and any entity that may be impacted by the Work. • Coordinate with MWS to reduce pressure or valve off water mains throughout the excavation/repair.
