Specifications include, but are not limited to: PART 3 - Transportation 3.1 Contractor shall transport pump to and from repair shop A. Pump must be transported in the vertical position B. Allow 2 hours for loading and unloading PART 4 - Pump Inspection 4.1 Disassembly: Contractor shall disassemble pump and inspect for excessive wear, cracks and deformation. 4.2 Check all bearing housings for roundness and trueness 4.3 Check shaft for sleeve fit, bearing fit, and straightness 4.4 Check impeller threads and jam nut for proper fit 4.5 Contractor shall report to KUB project manager any excessive wear requiring additional machine work and hard parts that need replacement due to cracks or deformation before proceeding with refurbishment. 4.6 Machine work due to normal wear should be expected and must be included in bid 4.7 Hard parts are parts that are expected to show little or no wear under normal use. Such as exterior casings, rotors, etc... 4.8 KUB’s project manager may determine it is in KUB’s best interest to replace pump instead of refurbishing. PART 5 - Pump Refurbishment: Must be approved by KUB’s project manager. 5.1 Install new Stainless Steel seal sleeve (If Approved) 5.2 Install new OEM stainless steel impeller and wear ring (If Approved) 5.3 Install new water buffer seal system (Verify that stuffing box is machined out for mechanical seal and machine face on stuffing box for proper seal) 5.4 Install new bearing to bearing manufacturer’s specifications 5.5 Replace casing ring with new stainless-steel casing ring (If Approved) using bore and pin method or 263 LocTite. Ensure casing ring is level and completely seated in volute. 5.6 Check balance and run out on shaft with new impeller installed. 5.7 Install new gaskets 5.8 Install new grease seals 5.9 Static and dynamically balance impeller 5.10 Check total runout with impeller installed 5.11 Chase threads and install new bolts 5.12 Sandblast, prime, and paint complete pump A. Painting shall be according to attached KUB painting specifications B. Paint color shall be coordinated with KUB to match existing equipment 5.13 Final assembly shall meet manufacturer’s specifications
