Specifications include, but are not limited to: Item No.1—Mowing: This item includes all equipment, labor, and materials necessary to mow areas where deemed necessary to the satisfaction of the City. City crews will regularly mow the outside 12 feet of each property, but it may be determined that additional mowing is required to control unwanted vegetation. Site conditions will vary site by site and may require mowing of grasses, cattails, or other wetland plants. All vegetation clippings shall be removed in a timely manner, or immediately if required by the City’s Storm Water Manager due to imminent weather forecasting. Material shall not be left in a location where storm water may wash it downstream. Removal of clippings shall be incidental to the mowing bid item. Item No.2—String Trimming: This item includes all equipment, labor, and materials necessary to properly trim unwanted vegetation to heights ranging from 8 inches to 12 inches in height.Item No.3—Applying Chemical: This item includes all equipment, labor, and materials necessary to apply chemicals in aquatic regions to the satisfaction of the City. Methods of application will vary depending on site conditions. Both wicking and spraying chemical will be required. The Contractor must be a licensed pesticide applicator in the state of South Dakota and must have, or be able to obtain by Monday, June 1, 2020, an aquatic spraying license. All necessary reporting associated with the license shall be done by the Contractor and shall be incidental to the applying chemical bid item.
