Specifications include, but are not limited to: private bike share system that is provided at no cost to the organizations which offers residents, visitors, students and employees a convenient and affordable way to bike seamlessly within participating communities ; a. Bicycles shall be new. b. Bicycles must be durable and be able to be kept outside 365 days per year with minimal wear. c. Bicycles shall be rust resistant. d. Please specify the weight of your bicycle. e. Bicycles must have fenders to protect users from tire spray. f. Bicycles must be consistent with South Dakota Codified Law 32-17-15; have a white light on the front of the bike visible under normal atmospheric conditions from a distance of at least three hundred feet in front of such bicycle and shall also be equipped with a reflex mirror or lamp on the rear exhibiting a yellow or red light visible under like conditions from a distance of at least two hundred feet to the rear of such bicycle. Lights whose energy is generated from the bike or solar panels and lights that remain on during short stops are preferred. g. Bicycles must have a maximum of five gears. h. Bicycles must have reliable and intuitive braking systems. i. Bicycles must have either a bell or a horn. j. Bicycles must be tamper resistant and have puncture resistant tires. ; • Mobile Application A mobile application to accept payments, handle all aspects of rental transactions, and provide information on bike availability and locations. • GPS Technology GPS technology or equivalent technology to provide real-time tracking of bicycle location and routes and to record trip data. • RFID/NFC technology RFID and/or NFC technology that enables users to rent bicycles from mobile devices, access cards, or other similar device.
