Specifications include, but are not limited to: This project is to procure and install Eleven (11) Stand-by Generators for the Eleven (11) Schools listed below. These Stand-by Generators are intended to provide backup power so that the school’s cafeteria refrigerated (chilled and frozen) food storage facilities will remain with power (operational) in the event of the loss of normal AC power. These food storage facilities can or will contain thousands of dollars of perishable food and the loss of AC power would mean these food stocks could perish. These standby systems are designed to automatically start and provide power to the school’s refrigeration systems for as long as normal AC power is not available. These generators rely on natural gas (NG) or liquefied petroleum (LP) gas for their fuel source. The NG generators are provided with an emergency LP Gas connection so that in the unlikely event NG is not available, portable LP Gas containers can be manually valved into the fuel supply for the generators. Provisions are provided to periodically, automatically and manually test these generators.
