Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this solicitation is to establish a moving service provider to relocate and assemble selected furniture in various Residence Halls and other Academic/Administrative buildings for the College of Charleston’s Division of Facilities Management. The Contractor shall provide labor to accommodate Summer Conferences and student move in. The majority of moving services will be for Student Housing facilities. The estimated number of moves is not known and there is not a guaranteed number of moves that will be made. The Contractor shall be able to provide up to twenty laborers with one supervisor per ten laborers during move in/bed lofting (adjusting) activities. Work may be spread out in up to nine residence halls simultaneously and Contractor supervisors must have means of coordinating activity. Moving services shall include moving furniture from the College’s Central Stores warehouse located at 4750 Goer Drive, Charleston, SC 29406 to campus and/or from one building to another on campus. Moving services shall also include moving furniture to the County Landfill (if it’s deemed disposable). See Attachment 1 for Student Housing facilities characteristics and measurements. The Contractor shall provide the following: a. 4-wheel moving dollies b. Panel carts – for transportation of larger items c. Tools for any disassembly and reassembly, one rubber mallet per two laborers for bed loftings d. Straight trucks: with heavy-duty lift gate for transportation (For most moving operations, because of limited loading or unloading space, 2 trucks will be used, round-robin) e. Clean moving pads f. Aluminum mag ramps and/or steel plates, as needed, for loading and unloading at all locations
