Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Remove/uproot stumps, logging slash, and remaining tree cover using excavator. 2. Rake cleared area with bulldozer and root rake to remove any additional root matter and smaller debris. Rake all cleared debris into windrows. 3. Using excavator, shake dirt from and load debris from windrows into dump truck and haul to specified debris burning location(s) within each of the cleared areas. The burning locations should generally be in the center of the clearing, and/or at least 100’ from the edge of the clearing. 4. Shake and stack debris at burn site using excavator. 5. Burn piles after sufficient drying time and according to all state laws, regulations, and smoke management guidelines. The contractor shall be responsible for making all notifications to the SC Forestry Commission and abiding by the SC Smoke Management Guidelines, as they pertain to the burning of piled debris from the clearing operation. 6. Rake cleared area a second time (at a 60 degree angle to the first raking) using bulldozer and root rake, load debris into dump truck with excavator, and take to burn site. 7. Shake, stack, and burn debris from second raking. Any remaining unburned debris (e.g. stumps, ashes), will be loaded and hauled to a designated disposal area located within the cleared Dove Field areas, generally in one or more of the far corners of the cleared area. 8. Level cleared dove fields and wildlife openings with a tractor and disk harrow (minimum of 2 passes), leaving in a condition ready for planting.
