Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1) Develop a program that will engage three to four communities per year in unincorporated Richland County but not excluding Eastover, Blythewood, and Irmo (10 - 12 over three years). Components for each community will include: Historical research of the area Site briefs for historically significant buildings Digitization of photos, letters, and documents Oral histories Waysides, kiosk, and historic marker development and installation Printed brochure for self-guided tour Public programs to gather and disseminate information Web-based tour Classroom educational materials that meet Dept. of Education curriculum standards 2) Develop a website that incorporates: Community histories RCCC projects and videos Virtual tours K-12 educational components Personalized thematic and geographic tours Local historical organizations’ resources Tourism connections Library and university resources Historical evolution of geographical areas of the County Coordination with the County Information Technology Office will be essential. 3) Develop branding design for County-wide use of signage, wayfinding, waysides, printed materials, and advertising 4) Develop connections and collaboration between local historical organizations and Richland Library
