Specifications include, but are not limited to: Qualified vendors and establish a contract for DNA Analysis of Property Crime Cases in accordance with the requirements of this solicitation for the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) Forensic Services DNA Laboratory. SLED will submit casework samples in a batch format to the Vendor Laboratory. A submission letter will accompany the samples indicating the type of samples submitted and the type of analysis requested. Batch size and frequency will be determined through discussion with award recipient, but batch size should generally be expected to be a minimum of 50 cases. Vendor shall notify SLED via email within one (1) business day upon receipt of a batch. The Vendor shall examine the shipping container and notify SLED by phone and email immediately upon discovery of any damage to the shipping container that would compromise the integrity of the samples. Vendor shall maintain a complete chain of custody for all samples starting with the unique identifier on the overnight shipping label on the shipping container. The chain of custody shall also include the unique identifier on the overnight shipping label used when returning samples to SLED.
