Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University would like to set up a contract with a Beechcraft certified service center to provide inspections, maintenance, repairs and parts on an as needed basis. The needed work and services may include avionics servicing, repair and possible future Garmin G-1000 avionics upgrade (example: Garmin G-1000 NXi) at the discretion of the University. The aircraft is out of warranty. The aircraft is flown an estimated 250 hours annually. This may increase or decrease depending on demand for flight services. The Contractor must furnish all scheduled inspections, maintenance, and repairs within approximately two (2) weeks of request from an authorized representative of the USC Flight Department. The Contractor should furnish all un-scheduled maintenance and repairs for the aircraft within approximately 24 hours of notification from an authorized representative of the USC Flight Department. It is desirable for the Contractor to provide full-service for all inspections, maintenance, airframe and avionics repair. It is undesirable for the Contractor to send parts of the aircraft to a different location for inspection, maintenance, or repair with the exception of engine overhaul, propeller overhaul and major avionics repair. If the contractor decides that an item must be sent to a different vendor, the University of South Carolina must be notified in writing and agree to who the subcontract vendor is prior to using. If the aircraft is in need of repair and is not able to fly, the contractor shall be able to provide a mechanic/technician to fly to the location of the aircraft and repair it. The Contractor must be an approved Service Center for Pratt Whitney (PT6A-60A engines), Garmin G-1000 avionics, BF Goodrich (wing boots & tires), as well as approved affiliations with Hartzell Propellers and Dallas Airmotive regarding engine related maintenance. If the Contractor is unable to provide any service request outlined in the terms and conditions of the contract, or if the expense of the repair work does not justify the cost of travel, the University of South Carolina reserves the right to take the aircraft to another service center that is able to meet the university’s needs. The Contractor may need to perform corresponding or incidental repairs, directly or indirectly related to or detected during maintenance procedures.
