Specifications include, but are not limited to: Surface Preparation The Contractor shall remove all conflicting pavement markings. The Contractor shall thoroughly clean all dust, grease, oil and foreign matter prior to application. The Contractor shall perform application on dry surfaces only. The Contractor shall apply primer sealer when applicable (based on type of marking material and surface). The Contractor shall remove curing compound from concrete surfaces prior to installing application. Application of Markings The Contractor shall apply marking material(s) at the specified location, pattern, and alignment on the pavement surface. The Contractor shall pay particular attention to lateral distances, longitudinal spacing patterns and relationship to longitude joints. The Contractor shall comply with the MUTCD and SCDOT Standard Specifications, Section 630 (Attachment D) Application Restrictions of Markings The Contractor shall not apply Raised Pavement Markings in the following conditions: 1. Moisture or foreign matter is present on the surface. 2. The air temperature is below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. 3. The relative humidity is above 85 percent.
