Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. The contractor shall furnish the appropriate materials and construct repairs to RBC #4A. These specifications direct attention to certain elements required but do not purport to cover all details of the materials and installation. B. The existing RBC is a model F89 RBC assembly, manufactured by Walker Process Equipment, Division of McNish Corporation. The RBC was installed and started up in 2015. C. The Contractor shall coordinate all work with the Water Pollution Control Department. The work shall be initiated within two weeks of award. D. Bearing a. The bearing shall be supplied and installed in accordance with Manufacturer’s recommendations. b. The main shaft bearings shall be heavy-duty, self-aligning, pillow-block type designed for high humidity, slow speed operation, with a minimum L10 life of 20 years at design load and 1.5 RPM. The bearings shall be assembled on the shafts and lubricated in accordance with the Manufacturer’s recommendations. The drive end bearings shall be expansion type. c. The bearing seals shall maintain contact even during misalignment and protect the bearing against entry of liquids and grit. d. The free end bearing shall be provided with a load cell to permit weight measurements. Each cell shall be complete with quick disconnect for attachment to a portable hydraulic bearing.
