The consultant will be responsible for working in a team environment with cross-departmental and cross-college leadership to identify current needs, areas of priority, and strategies to meet goals. The consultant will identify initiatives (1-4) that CCRI will work to implement. 2. Map current and potential career pathways – In collaboration with URI and RIC, CCRI will be working to identify existing and potential career pathways that can be promoted to high school students and graduates in an effort to increase healthcare career awareness and outreach. These career pathways will establish clear links between current remedial, academic and occupational programs and ensure students a seamless transition from one level to the next and between colleges. 3. Develop a career pathways event and implementation plan – The consultant will be responsible for planning and implementing a career pathways event that is sustainable and replicable after the vendor award is complete. The event will be held in collaboration with URI and RIC to show how pathways can lead to their health science programs and potential career opportunities. This event will take place in November 2018 and be replicated on a semi-annual or annual basis depending on the logistics of the event. The event will showcase each career pathway identified in the previous phases of the project. Students (high school and college) from all throughout Rhode Island will be invited to the event to see the potential pathways that are available.
