Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1) SYSTEM SURVEY AND PINPOINTING A. Contractor shall, at an initial meeting with the Director of Water Supply and/or any designated representatives, agree to suitable locations for data logger installation and then install acoustic loggers on all valves designated during that meeting with the North Kingstown Water Department (NKWD) i. Maps to be supplied to contractor by NKWD shall detail all valves to be surveyed. Valves shall then be pre-cleaned by NKWD and lids painted ii. Loggers on metallic mains should be placed at intervals of 750 ft. Loggers on AC mains should be spaced at intervals no more than 500 ft. iii. Loggers to remain on valve overnight B. Loggers to be downloaded and full report of each valve logged provided to NKWD i. Report must include: ▪ GPS location which can be overlaid on Google Maps ▪ Decibel Level (highest cumulative sum of 2,048 samples taken over 5- minute period beginning at 2:00 am ranging from 0 – 99 dB) ▪ Spread (percentage-based deviation plus or minus from Level) ▪ Leak / No Leak State (condition determined by logger software algorithm) Leak state confirmed after second validation of 2,048 samples analyzed from 3:00 – 3:05 am ▪ 10 second true audio file if logger in Leak Mode ▪ Frequency analysis graph of audio file ▪ Date and times for all data ii. Contractor will analyze all data to determine which warrant pinpointing efforts consistent with industry standards C. Pinpointing i. Contractor will provide correlation ▪ Real time correlator use o Correlation points used will be indicated on NKWD provided system map o Correlation points will be identified as main line valve, hydrant valve, hydrant, customer service, blow-off, etc. o Footages between points will be documented o SNR ratios will be documented o Apparent leak location will be field painted and documented after thorough ground microphone investigation is completed
