The Town of Richmond seeks to hire a consultant through this Request for Proposals (RFP) to conduct a restoration and land protection planning assessment of the Beaver River watershed, a ~20-square mile area situated almost entirely within the limits of this suburban-rural community in Washington County (“South County”), Rhode Island. The 11-mile long Beaver River includes high quality, coldwater stream habitat and substantial forested and scrub-shrub wetlands providing important habitat to a variety of fish (e.g., eastern brook trout, river herring) and wildlife (e.g., wood turtle, mussels) species, and contributing to high biodiversity in the Wood-Pawcatuck watershed. The Beaver River is one of 8 tributaries of the WoodPawcatuck River watershed that was recently designated as part of the Wild and Scenic River system.
