Iowa DOT is needing a contractor to provide and install Steel Fencing under the Bridge located at 15th Street and I-235 near Des Moines. Quote must include pricing for both east and west sides of the bridge. DOT minimum requirements include; Estimated length of fence is 507' x height of the fence is to be 12' (this includes the fortress curved top edge as shown in the photos in Exhibit A). Fencing must be powder coated to withstand the weather elements and prevent rusting. There will need to be two (2) 3’ gates installed on the length of the fence; gates must have the capability to be locked. Bars are to be spaced 4” apart. The steel gauge is to range from 14 to 16. The fence shall be anchored. The fence will run along the front of the piers and will be anchored down with the bolts, these will go into the concrete along the sidewalk, then the fence will run up the slope protection to the top outside of the bridge and be mounted the same way as the bottom by the piers. Vendor is to include the product and labor warranty at the time the quote is submitted. Measurements indicated above are estimation only. Vendors must field verify all measurements for the east and west side prior to submitting a quote. Vendors are to provide a drawing of the fence design and proposed installation of the fence design.
