Hazardous Materials Chemical and Biological Suits 2.1.1. All Hazardous Materials suits must be rated in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) or National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1990, 1992, 1994 standards. 2.1.2. The proposal shall be for eight (8) Level A (NFPA Class 1) and eight (8) Level C (Class 3) ensembles. This is a total of 16 ensembles. 2.1.3. Each ensemble shall include any additional items such as gloves, chemical/hazmat tape, shoes/foot coverings, or other items required for the ensemble to function at its rated level of protection. 2.1.4. These suits shall be compatible with a variety of situations and environments including non-permissive or "tactical" environments, environments where radiological or nuclear hazards may also be present, and confined spaces. 2.1.5. These suits shall be able to be worn under an EOD 9, EOD 10, NP Aerospace 4030 bomb suit. The suits shall also be wearable under tactical body armor. 2.1.6. The suit shall be made of a durable material able to withstand incidental cuts and abrasions. The use of materials that allow for enhanced breathability, comfort, reduced heat, or enhanced maneuverability is desirable. 2.1.7. Suits that may be machine washed and reused is desirable. 2.1.8. Suits shall have a shelf life of at least five years.
