The professional development program should include the following components: 1. The vendor shall provide LAUSD with a flyer for the program to assist in recruiting participants. The flyer shall include an overview of the topics covered and a link to register. 2. The PD shall be no more than 4 hours. 3. The program can be divided into multiple sessions to accommodate the staff’s schedule. 4. The PD will be provided to up to 200 participants per year. 5. The PD shall be provided to four separate cohorts of participants (same material but offered on different days to different participants). 6. Each cohort shall include up to 50 participants per cohort. 7. The PD(s) should be offered in the evening and or weekends. 8. The PD(s) will be offered exclusively online. 9. The PD(s) will be recorded, and the resources shared via LAUSD’s Learning Management System (LMS), Schoology on the LAUSD Climate Literacy Group. 10. The PD(s) should cover the following topics: a. Fundamental concepts of sustainability and climate change, and the strategies, practices, and resources that can be used to incorporate them into the appropriate disciplines of study for each grade level. b. How these sustainability concepts connect to practices and impacts at school sites. c. Required topics shall include the following: 1) building electrification, 2) climate resilience, 3) carbon emissions reduction, 4) energy efficiency, 5) energy and water conservation, 6) outdoor education, 7) materials resources and zero waste, 8) environmental justice, 9) eco-anxiety or trauma-informed activities, 10) green careers.
