1. Scope of Service: The purpose of this IFB is to select a service provider (hereinafter “Bidder”), secure firm prices and establish a full service contract for the provision of commercial roofing services (hereinafter “services”) that are common and necessary to the operations and infrastructure of an educational facility. SBAC currently serves a population of approximately 29,000 students, located in forty-four (44) schools and centers. The District also maintains five (05) other ancillary facility sites and approximately three hundred twenty (320) portable buildings. In brief, the scope of contract shall require Bidder to provide qualified labor and customary tools and equipment, on a reoccurring basis, for the repair and occasional re-roofing of various types of commercial roofing systems including, but not limited to, single ply, built-up gravel-surface, modified bitumen, metal, and asphalt shingle. Work shall typically consist of leak repair. As part of services, Bidder shall have the ability to perform any and all associated and incidental work generally performed by commercial roofing contractors that may be required to complete each project. By way of example, this shall include the fabrication, repair and installation of roof flashing, curbs, gutters, fascia, vent systems and other roof penetrations.
