Work consists of replacing the existing gravel roadway surface with a 120-foot-long 8-inch-thick, 22-foot-wide concrete jointed pavement with 1” dowels. The side slopes will consist of a 6” thick, epoxy reinforced concrete slope paving at varying slope profiles, protected with rip-rap to prevent undercutting of the concrete. The work also includes grading of and removal of existing gravel and slope stabilization, placement of expansion joint material, riprap, geotextile fabric for the Emergency/Recreational Access to Cold Brook Dam. This project is located at the inflow into Cold Brook Dam near Hot Springs South Dakota.
The purpose of this project is to protect the roadbed over the culvert in the event of flooding. This is the emergency access to flood control gates.
