Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City’s initial goal is to compare renovating their existing facility located at 307 3rd Ave in Brookings with designing and constructing a new facility at a yet to be determined location in Brookings. If a conceptual solution is determined to be feasible, the City will proceed with the design and construction process, subject to City Council approval. The current 24,916 BPD is a one-story building, with a basement, built in the 1960s with an addition in the 1980s. A renovation project would likely include replacing or upgrading the elevator, roofing, technology, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, technology and fire protection systems along with modifications to the internal layout to improve operational efficiencies. The City is seeking assistance with managing the process which will include, but not limited to, the following scope of services: STEP ONE: Act as the “project point person” for communication with the project team members, potential vendors and service providers Structure a process to compare 1) renovating their existing facility and 2) building a new facility. Managing the project team assembly process following the requirements of the City of Brookings and the State of South Dakota.
