Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of Transportation maintenance shops will be the collection point of all old tire casings • All types of tires will be included - passenger tires, truck tires and equipment tires • Only tire casings that are not re-capable will be disposed of as scrap tires casings for recycling • The vendor will be responsible for loading and pickup of tire casings within 30 days after receiving the request. Normal working days from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM no pickup on holidays • Vendor shall provide an invoice showing the number or tons of waste tires picked up, unit price, and total price • Agencies shall submit a Department order to request pick up service, contract number must be on the order form, the approximate number of tires to be picked up, location of waste tires • All tires will be removed from wheel rims • The Department of Transportation will separate tires from waste tires to be picked up by the vendor. No sorting will be required by the vendor • The following locations are to be used as drop off sites for non-recapable tires and highway tire scraps: Aberdeen Region (Aberdeen, Brookings, Watertown, Huron)
