Specifications include, but are not limited to: The proposed Ohiopyle Multimodal Gateway Project is an initiative of PennDOT District 12. The project is located in Ohiopyle Borough, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. The goal of the project is to improve the State Route (SR) 381 (Main Street) corridor by minimizing conflict points to better serve all users and all modes of travel. Previous improvements benefitted parts of the project area and some users; this project will consolidate previous efforts, focus on additional improvements to better serve all members of the traveling public, and result in a cohesive multimodal corridor. Anticipated improvements include: •Minor widening of SR 381 to the west (towards the Youghiogheny River / Ohiopyle State Park visitor's area) to allow installation of sidewalks on both sides of SR 381 •Improved parking and pedestrian access on SR 381 •Removal of the bike lane from SR 381 between the SR 381 Bridge, over the Youghiogheny River, and Sherman Street. The bike lane in this area will be reconstructed through the grassy area of the park to the west of SR 381 •Reconstruction of the existing parking area to the south of the Borough of Ohiopyle and east of SR 381 to improve flow through the parking lot and increase the number of parking spaces to the extent possible •Relocation of SR 2012 (Sugarloaf Road) slightly to the north so that it parallels Negley Road (local road). Negley Road will no longer have an intersection with SR 381, but will remain as a parking area / staging area for use by the businesses the abut Negley Road.
