Specifications include, but are not limited to: The work is primarily comprised of the following for the PDP Greenhouse: • Provide instructors to deliver horticulture training program on the campus at PDP and through paid post release internships. • Provide oversight to the Correctional Staff assigned to the Greenhouse and Horticulture Center who will lead the training and oversight of the inmates assigned to work at the Center. • Assist with maintaining the greenhouse on an as needed basis. Provider to utilize the greenhouse on a limited basis for growing plants for donation. • Provider is required to work jointly with Temple University certification program on campus (greenhouse, compost, orchard) and during the post release internship. • Provider’s proposed staff will be required to meet Temple University’s professional educational standards to be qualified as the trainer. 3 Revised: February 2019 • Provider is responsible to train and track each participant and their time will be credited towards the Temple certification. • Provider is required to work with PDP staff, the Mayor’s Office of Reintegration Services (RISE) and other designated partners. • Upon graduation from the Temple Certification Program, provider is responsible for post release job placement. • Provider is responsible for program record keeping, evaluation and certification tracking. • Provider is responsible to work with the RISE Office for a minimum of one year for post release case management, workforce development, literacy, life skills training and job placement. • Procure materials and supplies to maintain the greenhouse and horticulture center. These will include supplies for propagation, organic pest control, irrigation, planting, harvesting, small carpentry projects, and fuel and equipment maintenance. • Provider is responsible to work with PDP Correctional Staff to train inmates to perform maintenance and repair on greenhouse and raised garden beds. • Provider is responsible for providing maintenance of greenhouse and horticulture center. Work will be performed on an as needed basis (a minimum of 2 times/week). • Maintain tool inventory and report inventory to designated PDP contact.
