Although a vision and goals would be developed as part of the planning process, objectives include: Existing Conditions Inventory supporting bike and pedestrian infrastructure and facilities Inventory bike education programs Identify opportunities and challenges Provide safety assessment Create regional overview Review previous planning efforts and best practices (local, state, national) Review municipal and county trail system plans and inventories within and adjacent to the region Review municipal and county park and recreation plans and inventories within and adjacent to the region Review regional natural resources inventories/assessments Review of State designated bike routes Connections and Gap Analysis Prepare a comprehensive gap analysis Identify on and off-road and sidewalk connectors Connect communities and points of interest/regional destinations Connect to trails, parks and the natural environment Connect job centers and educational institutions, including areas designated for redevelopment or growth
