The hi-rail crane shall be new and the latest current-year model. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: 2.1 Hi-rail crane shall be Geismar Model 360 KGT, or “Approved Equal”. 2.2 Operating Conditions: Unit shall be capable of operation on the following rail system tracks, conforming, at a minimum, to the following requirements: 2.2.1 Curvature – 82 ft. radius 2.2.2 Grade up to 9.5% 2.2.3 Super-elevation up to six (6) inches 2.2.4 Track Gauge – 62 ½” 2.2.5 Turnouts – AREMA No. 4 through No. 12 2.2.6 The design, construction and material used shall assure that the hi-rail crane will function reliably and efficiently in sustaining operation under hard usage in an adverse railway environment, including but not limited to severe grades and super-elevation. 2.3 General: The following requirements shall be met: 2.3.1 Supplier shall adequately stock replacement parts in the U.S. for quick delivery when needed. 2.3.2 Supplier shall have after sales service support with available factory trained service technicians to assist in start-up and training. 2.3.3. Machine equipped with Hi-rail gear shall weigh no more than 55,000 lbs. 2.3.4 Lifting capacity shall be 20,000 lbs. over front and rear of the machine, at 13 ‘6” from center line. 2.3.5 Shall have a short tail swing of 74” or less to assure ample clearance for work in double track areas, does not foul adjacent track and allows crane to work in confined spaces. 2.3.6 Machine while on rubber tires shall be able to negotiate over rail & ballast with ease (shall not bog in ballast or be top heavy when climbing over rails). 2.3.7 Shall have a hydraulically operated disc parking brake. 2.3.8 Four industrial lug tread tires (foam filled). 2.3.9 Shall be equipped with a battery disconnect switch. 2.3.10 Fuel tank capacity 42 gallon (minimum). 2.3.11 Shall be equipped with a lock hasp on all tanks & tool boxes. 2.3.12 Machine shall be capable of using multi-purpose attachments for example but not limited to: telescopic boom, tie replacer, excavating bucket, undercutter. 2.3.13A minimum of two (2) coats of primer shall be applied. 2.3.14A minimum of two (2) finish coats (DuPont/Polyurethane enamel #855 OUH Chrome Yellow) with hardener shall be applied.
