Specifications include, but are not limited to: Renovations to the exterior of an existing barn building for use as a nature center in the existing public park. New sitework, site lighting, landscaping, an accessible concrete ramp and concrete stairs into the nature center. The existing building has an approximately 3600 square foot area. The existing building is two stores and is constructed primarily of stone walls and wood framed floors. The second floor of on wing of the building is frame construction. The existing main part of the building functioned as a horse barn and has been renovated for educational use. The south wing has been renovated for public toilet rooms and an education resource room on the first floor and an unoccupied staff/ volunteer office space on the second floor. Earlier completed site work to support park functions include, a large culvert crossing of a storm channel, storm water management improvements, parking lot improvements, trail improvements, and access to the vicinity of proposed work. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes the following: Retain one of two subparagraphs below. Demolition of an existing exterior ramp. Site work for walkways, courtyard, conduit, rain garden, storm drainage, and E&S. New courtyard with interlocking concrete pavers over aggregate. New exterior concrete stairs and accessible ramp with concrete foundations and metal railings. New mortared stone sitting wall with concrete foundation. New mortared stone firepit with fabricated metal grate lid. Removal of existing siding and selected windows on the south wing. New siding and windows on the south wing Limited removal and reattachment of building stormwater components to accommodate new siding installation. New flagpole in a raised stone planting bed. New parking lot and landscape lighting.
