Description

Specifications include, but are not limited to: Innovative shelter diversion and homeless prevention activities.  Up to $500,000 is available through the Housing Trust Fund for a Family Shelter Diversion Pilot to help at least 130 families avoid homelessness through the provision of a suite of housing related services to help them avoid shelter admission.  Up to $250,000 is available through the federal HUD Emergency Solutions Grant Program for homeless prevention services for single men and women, couples, families, and young adults. Activities may include, but are not limited to, the following:  Housing Search  Rental Application Fees  Security Deposit, First and Last Month’s Rent  Short-Term Rental Subsidy  Other Financial Assistance, e.g. Transportation Assistance  Utility Assistance  Housing Stabilization Services  Mediation/Conflict Resolution (may include family, friends, landlord)  Connection to Mainstream Resources and/or Employment (e.g. help applying for SSI or other benefits)  Moving Costs  Credit Repair
