Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of the EARN program is to provide comprehensive activities and services to individuals who are applying for TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) benefits as well as individuals who are already receiving TANF benefits. EARN services include: comprehensive case management, job readiness/job search, paid work experience, community service, short term training opportunities, job retention services, credentialing, and embedded GED. Work activities in EARN include unsubsidized employment, paid work experience, and community service. All participants are enrolled for a minimum of 20 hours, although some are required to participate for 30 hours. The goal of the program is to move the individuals served towards employment and self-sufficiency. A successful program will allow for rapid attachment to the workforce within the time frames established for EARN participants
